Introduction

The Mol Premier Series furnaces are resistance-heated high-temperature furnaces designed for operating temperatures of up to 1,550 °C.

All furnaces are available in three different versions, each optimized for specific applications:

Mol Premier1350 Combustion Furnace – For the complete oxidation of samples in an oxygen stream at high temperatures.
Mol Premier1000 Combustion Furnace – Designed for the complete oxidation of particularly large samples in an oxygen stream.
Mol Premier1350 Pre-Heating Furnace – Effectively reduces blank values of sample carriers in accordance with ASTM E1019, ISO 9556, and ISO 4935.

Mol Premier1350 Pre-Heating Furnace

The Mol Premier®1350 Pre-Heating Furnace is a powerful and compact benchtop device that supports the precise determination of element concentrations in the sensitive ppm range. To achieve accurate results, it may be necessary to reduce the blank values of sample holders such as crucibles and combustion boats.

Operation

The pre-heating of sample holders such as combustion boats and crucibles is essential for reducing blank values and is performed according to standards such as ASTM E1019, ISO 9556, and ISO 4935. This process ensures the removal of residual contaminants, organic impurities, and adsorbed gases before the sample holders are used for precise elemental analysis.

The sample holders are placed inside the ceramic pre-heating tube (Ø 29 mm) and subjected to a defined temperature treatment for a specified period.

Properly pre-heated sample holders are free from interfering residues, enabling highly accurate analyses. To prevent recontamination, they should be stored in a dry and clean environment.
