Elementaranalysator Mol CS1000

Carbon and sulfur in solid samples

Introduction

The Mol CS1000 is a modern, high-performance, and versatile elemental analyzer for the simultaneous determination of total carbon (TC) and total sulfur (TS). It is specifically designed for the analysis of predominantly organic, solid samples such as coal, coke, oil, ash, catalysts, lime, gypsum, soils, rubber, and waste.

Furthermore, the Mol CS1000 enables the precise determination of environmental parameters such as TOC (Total Organic Carbon) and TIC (Total Inorganic Carbon). Its high performance, robustness, and reliability make it the ideal solution for a wide range of applications in elemental analysis – from research laboratories to industrial environments.

Measurement Principle

For analysis, the samples are completely combusted in an oxygen stream at high temperatures in a high-temperature furnace (combustion analysis).

During this process, the combustion gases CO₂, H₂O, and SO₂ are generated, then purified, dried, and measured in the Mol NDIR ORU (Non-Dispersive Infrared Optical Reading Unit).

Depending on the desired configuration, up to four independent, selective wide-range infrared detectors of the latest generation can be used. These enable highly precise and flexible measurements over a wide concentration range.

The measurement result is then calculated and the mass fraction, relative to the sample weight, is displayed in the central control, operation, and evaluation software Mol.

The Mol CS1000 meets or exceeds the requirements of all common ASTM, DIN, EN, and ISO standards for elemental analysis.

Numerous Application Areas

The Mol CS1000 is optimized for a wide range of sample types and industries. It is used in fields such as energy, environmental science, materials science, mining, and many other industries.

Thanks to its versatility and precision, it provides reliable results for a variety of analytical requirements.
